Job Summary
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out procedures using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
- Verify insurance coverage and perform eligibility checks to facilitate smooth billing processes.
- Schedule patient appointments efficiently while managing a multi-line phone system with professionalism and clear communication.
- Collect and review medical documentation, ensuring accuracy in Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and medical billing procedures.
- Maintain accurate medical records through filing, data entry, and updating patient information.
- Assist with medical collections by following HIPAA guidelines and ensuring compliance during all patient interactions.
- Support clinical staff with intake procedures, care plan documentation review, and basic clerical tasks, such as typing reports and managing office supplies.
- Handle phone etiquette professionally while delivering excellent patient service and promptly addressing inquiries.
- Perform insurance verification, obtain authorizations for testing, and manage appointment scheduling, rescheduling, and follow-up calls to enhance the patient experience.We are looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented bilingual (Spanish) Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. Experience
- Prior clinic or medical office experience is required, preferably within healthcare settings
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding standards, CPT coding, and medical billing practices is essential
- Experience with insurance verification processes and Medicare/Medicaid guidelines is preferred
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and health information management software
- Excellent customer service skills coupled with professional phone etiquette and multi-line phone system operation
- Bilingual (Spanish) abilities
