Communication Construction & Engineering (CC&E), a local underground utility contractor, is hiring a Laborer to join our team in Denver, CO.
This position supports underground utility construction projects installing fiber optic, electrical, and other underground infrastructure. The Laborer works as part of a small construction crew preparing trenches, installing conduit, setting handholes and vaults, loading materials, and helping complete projects safely and efficiently.
Typical crews include a Crew Lead, Equipment Operator, Laborer, and other field personnel. The Laborer plays an important role in keeping projects moving while maintaining a safe and organized job site.
Most work is in the Denver metro area and across the Front Range. Some projects require overnight travel throughout Colorado and surrounding states. Lodging and per diem are provided when applicable.

Schedule
- Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Night or weekend work may occasionally be required
- Typical work week: 40 to 50 hours
Pay
$20.00 to $27.00 per hour based on experience.
Higher pay within this range is typically reserved for candidates with a valid CDL and relevant underground utility construction experience.

Responsibilities
- Assist with installing conduit and underground utility systems
- Prepare trenches for conduit installation
- Assist with setting handholes, vaults, and other underground structures
- Load, unload, and organize tools, materials, and equipment
- Work safely around excavators, skid steers, trenchers, and other heavy equipment
- Set up traffic control and maintain a safe work zone
- Keep the job site clean, organized, and safe
- Follow directions from the Crew Lead
- Support the crew in completing quality work safely and efficiently
This is an active field position. Laborers are expected to stay engaged throughout the workday and assist wherever needed to keep projects moving.
Requirements
- Clean, valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required)
- Willingness to travel overnight when project needs require it
- Ability to perform physical labor throughout the workday
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Dependable with a strong work ethic
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely as part of a crew
- Drug-free workplace (pre-employment and random drug testing may be required)
- Professional attitude representing the company on job sites
Preferred Experience
- Previous construction or underground utility experience
- Experience working around heavy equipment
- Experience installing conduit or underground utilities
