Reporting to the Construction Services Manager, the AS CAD Technician supports project execution by producing accurate shop drawings, installation drawings, and 3D models that translate architectural design intent into fabrication-ready documentation. Working in collaboration with Project Managers and Engineers, the role develops deliverables across the project lifecycle—from estimating takeoffs and design coordination through engineering handoff and manufacturing—while maintaining drafting/modeling standards and organized project files.

What you’ll do
- Produces 2D shop drawings and related details for standard and moderately customized conditions, including modifications to typical systems as directed.
- Creates 3D models (primarily in Rhino or equivalent) to support design coordination and shop drawing development under supervision.
- Develops drawings/documentation through the project lifecycle (e.g., estimating takeoffs, design coordination, and engineering for manufacturing) with guidance from project stakeholders.
- Supports the handoff to Production/Manufacturing in collaboration with Engineering and Project Management.
- Maintains and updates CAD/model libraries and standard details following established standards and file management practices under direct supervision.
- Reviews incoming client documents for completeness and assists with capturing scope and design intent; escalate unclear inputs for resolution.
- Documents drawing updates and incorporates changes as needed, maintaining accurate revision history.
- Tracks time and workload to support scheduling and on-time delivery, coordinating daily priorities with the team.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Windows applications.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Degree or certificate in architecture, engineering, manufacturing, construction, industrial design, or related field.
- 0–2 years related experience producing shop drawings and/or 3D models in a construction/manufacturing/design environment (internships/co-ops may count).

Work Environment

- Office Environment – This position operates in a professional office environment and is not exposed to adverse environmental conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. No PPE is required.
- Plant Environment – This position operates in a manufacturing setting and can be subject to extreme cold and hot temperatures; uneven walking surfaces with cords, tools, and other obstacles; intermittent loud noises; and dusty or dirty conditions. Required PPE includes hard hat (when required), safety glasses, earplugs, steel toe/composite boots, and fall protection.
Pay: $25.33 - $31.66 per hour
