Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and social-emotional learning activities.
- Support children with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, or other special needs by adapting activities and providing personalized assistance
- Help manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement strategies and behavior management techniques to maintain a safe and respectful environment.
- Support classroom organization by preparing materials, setting up learning stations, and maintaining a clean and inviting space conducive to active learning.
- Collaborate with teachers on developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students requiring tailored educational plans.
- Engage in ongoing lesson planning, curriculum development, and assessment activities to support student progress across various subjects including early childhood education, literacy, math, and Montessori or preschool methodologies.
Requirements
ESE 6-12 units completed or 6 completed and currently enrolled
Prior experience working with children in classroom settings or childcare environments is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, classroom management strategies, and special education practices.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, students, and families.
- Ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet the diverse needs of learners, including those with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
- Experience with early childhood education settings such as preschool or toddler care; Montessori or private school experience is advantageous.
