Radiology Technologists use x-ray equipment to obtain images of the body interpreted by a Radiologist and are responsible for preparing patients for the exam, moving and instructing the patient into the proper position, correctly operating the equipment, and obtaining a high-quality image while minimizing radiation dose to the patient. Radiology Technologists may go on to specialize in more specific imaging techniques such as bone densitometry, cardiovascular-interventional radiography, computer tomography, mammography, magnetic resonance imaging and nuclear medicine .

A PRN caregiver in this position works varying 8- or 12-hour shifts . Availability to work Monday-Friday and rotating on-call and weekend shifts is required . The team floats to support the operations of the Emergency Department and Ambulatory offices, requiring availab ility to work variable shifts 24 x7.
Floating between St. Lucie West and Tradition Hospital is required , as needed.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Perform a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation to detect pathology. Procedures may include routine radiology examinations, motion-free exams, portable/bedside examinations, fluoroscopy and invasive exams, OR and ED procedures and bone density procedures (DEXA).
