Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Certified Peer Support Specialist to empower individuals navigating recovery. Responsibilities
- Provide peer-led support by sharing personal recovery experiences to motivate and inspire clients.
- Assist individuals in developing crisis intervention strategies and managing mental health crises effectively.
- Employ motivational interviewing techniques to encourage behavioral change and strengthen motivation for recovery.
- Host weekly peer led groups with curriculum
- Attend monthly sober activity events with youth and young adults
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems accurately to document interactions, progress notes, and service plans.
- Promote harm reduction principles by educating clients on safe practices related to substance use and mental health management.
- Mentor clients through skill-building activities focused on social work principles, addiction counseling, and behavioral health recovery.
Experience
- Lived experience with mental health conditions or recovery from substance use disorder is essential.
- Prior experience working in behavioral health, social work, or addiction counseling is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of crisis management techniques and crisis intervention strategies is required.
- Familiarity with EHR systems and documentation practices in healthcare settings is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of harm reduction approaches, motivational interviewing, and working with individuals with co-occurring disorders.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor others with empathy, patience, and active listening skills.
- Certification as a Peer Support Specialist or equivalent credential is necessary; ongoing training in behavioral health topics is a plus.

Pay: $40,000.00 per year
