Fabrication Specialties, Inc. is an ISO-certified custom fabricator of thermal and acoustical insulation, foam, gasketing, and other nonmetallic materials. For decades we've supplied accurate, cost-effective solutions to customers in the refractory, HVAC, construction, industrial equipment, and transportation industries. Our reputation is built in our warehouse — and we're looking for a Shipping Supervisor to help keep it that way.
Position Summary
The Shipping Supervisor oversees daily shipping and receiving operations, making sure every custom order leaves our facility complete, correctly packaged, and on schedule. This role leads the shipping team, coordinates freight carriers, and works closely with production and customer service to meet delivery commitments.
Key Responsibilities
· Supervise daily shipping, receiving, and staging of fabricated insulation and gasketing products
· Schedule and coordinate LTL, truckload, and parcel carriers; prepare bills of lading, packing lists, and shipping documentation
· Ensure orders are accurately picked, packed, labeled, and loaded to meet ship dates
· Lead, schedule, and train shipping and warehouse staff
· Maintain shipping records and track outbound shipments; resolve delivery issues with carriers and customers
· Manage inventory of packaging and shipping supplies
· Coordinate handoffs with the production floor and customer service to keep orders moving
· Enforce safety practices and maintain compliance with OSHA and FSI's ISO quality procedures
· Keep the shipping area organized, clean, and audit-ready
Qualifications
· 7+ years of shipping, warehouse, or logistics experience, including 5 years in a supervisory or lead role (manufacturing or distribution preferred)
· Working knowledge of freight/LTL carriers, bills of lading, and shipping documentation
· Forklift certification (or ability to obtain)
· Comfortable with shipping software, email, and basic computer/ERP systems
· Strong organizational and communication skills; able to lead a team and juggle competing deadlines
· High school diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements
· Able to lift up to 40 lbs and stand, walk, and move throughout the warehouse for the full shift
· Work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and exposure to fabrication materials (PPE provided)
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
