Dowling Ford is urgently hiring an experienced Truck Shop Foreman / Lead Diesel Technician to help lead our newly opened Ford truck center in Cheshire, Connecticut.
This is not a generic technician opening. This is a rare opportunity for a serious diesel/medium-duty professional who wants to step into a leadership role, help build a department the right way, and be paid like a key person — not just another tech in the shop.
We are a 50-year family-owned Ford dealership with a growing commercial truck operation, strong facility investment, and a real need for someone who can bring structure, production discipline, technical leadership, and pride to a new truck center.
What We Need
We need a foreman who can lead from the front.
The right person will be able to:
- Diagnose and repair Ford diesel and medium-duty trucks
- Lead, support, and coach technicians
- Help dispatch work and keep jobs moving
- Communicate clearly with advisors, management, and technicians
- Set the pace for quality, efficiency, and accountability
- Help build processes for a growing truck department
- Handle commercial/fleet expectations professionally
- Take ownership of the shop’s success
This role is ideal for someone who is currently a senior diesel technician, shop foreman, lead tech, working foreman, or highly experienced Ford technician who is ready for a bigger opportunity.
Compensation
We are prepared to pay aggressively for the right person.
Compensation may include:
- $55–$60 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
- Monthly shop performance bonus
- $120,000–$175,000+ annual potential
- Possible guaranteed bonus during initial transition period for the right candidate

Ideal Experience
Strong candidates may have experience with:
- Ford diesel trucks
- Super Duty
- Transit
- Medium-duty trucks
- Commercial/fleet repair
- Diesel diagnostics
- Electrical diagnostics
- Drivability
- Engine, transmission, aftertreatment, DEF, emissions, and related systems
- Shop leadership or informal team leadership
Ford certifications are strongly preferred, but we will consider an exceptionally strong diesel technician with the right leadership ability.
