PVPA has an opportunity for a Math Intervention Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. We are looking for a reflective practitioner who collaborates effectively with colleagues and understands the varied needs of students in grades 7-12. The ideal candidate will be a reflective practitioner who is interested in integrating the arts into the curriculum, teaching with a social justice lens, collaborating with students and colleagues, and has experience in implementing restorative practices in the classroom. This position will co-teach Algebra 1 and two sections of a tier three math intervention class.
There is also opportunities to work with students outside of class time. In addition to teaching classes, under the direction of the Director of Curriculum & Instruction, you will be responsible for: 1Providing math intervention mini-lessons and ongoing assessment to targeted students in Algebra 1 and Geometry classes2Providing updated math data to grade level teams and the math department and participate in decisions about student progress3Supporting and training math teachers to modify lessons and use data to inform instruction.4Supporting math during student study blocks by reteaching, reviewing and helping students revise math assignments. 5Collaborating with teachers, administration, and families to help identify best practices for individual and small groups of students6Attending and participating in meetings with students and/or parents as scheduled7Participating in professional development workshops8Supervising students during non-class times (ex: break & lunch) as required9Participating in a variety of school wide events
