Step into a dynamic role supporting students with a contract opportunity as a school-based Occupational Therapist in the Fort Lauderdale area. Providing services across seven schools, you’ll enjoy the variety of working with a diverse student population—all while leveraging your skills in a primarily remote (VOCO) setting.
You’ll be scheduled for 30 hours per week, which allows for a healthy work-life balance. In addition, you’ll take on the rewarding responsibility of supervising a certified occupational therapy assistant (COTA), providing mentorship and guidance to help them thrive.
What You'll Bring:
- Active Occupational Therapist license in Florida
- Experience working in educational or pediatric settings—school-based or teletherapy experience is a plus
- Proven ability to supervise, mentor, or support COTAs or other team members
- Strong communication and organizational skills for effective remote collaboration
- Flexibility to meet the needs of multiple school teams and varied student caseloads
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy assessments and interventions via teletherapy (VOCO), supporting K-12 special and general education students
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on IEP goals
- Provide ongoing supervision and guidance to the assigned COTA
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to promote student success
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with school and professional standards
- Travel to on-site locations as needed for meetings or assessments
