Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of pizzas according to established recipes, menu specifications, and presentation standards
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, and slicing tools efficiently and safely
- Follow food safety sanitizing procedures diligently to ensure a clean and hygienic work environment
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting new pizza flavors and toppings based on customer preferences and seasonal ingredients
- Handle food production tasks including dough preparation, topping assembly, baking, and finishing touches
- Ensure proper food handling techniques are followed at all times to maintain quality and safety standards
- Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent food service experiences in a high-volume setting
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, especially within the pizza or restaurant industry
- Strong knowledge of food safety management and sanitizing procedures
- Skilled in operating kitchen equipment such as pizza ovens, mixers, and slicing machines
- Excellent knife skills for ingredient prep including chopping, dicing, and portioning ingredients accurately
- Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation techniques like braising, poaching, grilling, and food production
- Familiarity with dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of food industry standards related to food handling, cooking methods, and catering experience
