Projects can range from 25 lot residential subdivisions to heavy industrial or clean energy of any size.
We are looking for Site Safety Managers for projects in the Lancaster, Mojave, and Blythe areas.
The Site Safety Manager role is responsible for ensuring trenching and excavation activities meet OSHA and company safety standards. The position oversees hazard assessments, daily inspections, safety training, and incident investigations, acting as the designated Competent Person on-site. It also manages documentation, develops emergency action plans, and coordinates with project teams to integrate safety into all phases of work, including environmental compliance. Candidates need OSHA safety certifications, deep knowledge of construction operations, and the ability to lead and promote a strong safety culture in heavy civil construction environments.

Responsibilities:
- Enforce company HSE Program and OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart P compliance.
- Conduct pre-job hazard assessments and ensure all required permits are in place.
- Perform daily trench/excavation inspections and document findings.
- Serve as the designated Competent Person for trenching and excavation activities.
- Ensure protective systems, access/egress, spoil pile placement, and barricades meet standards.
- Lead site-specific orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training.
- Monitor equipment operations, pedestrian separation, and prevent unsafe conditions.
- Investigate incidents/near-misses; recommend and track corrective actions.
- Maintain daily logs, training records, PPE/equipment inspection sheets, and incident reports.
- Develop and implement site-specific Emergency Action Plans (EAPs).
- Coordinate with project team to integrate safety into work planning.
- Monitor environmental compliance (stormwater, erosion, contaminated soil).
Requirements:
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.
- OSHA 510 (Standards for the Construction Industry).
- Competent Person – Trenching & Excavations certification.
- Experience in heavy civil underground work, trenching, and excavation safety.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and applicable local safety regulations.
- Proven ability to lead safety programs and foster a safety-first culture.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
This position requires regular work at active construction sites and exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including high and low temperatures, dust, noise, and uneven terrain.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods; frequently bend, kneel, reach, and use hands and arms; and communicate effectively through speaking and hearing. Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
