Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or related field
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with students with a variety of disabilities (including intellectual, emotional, physical, or learning challenges)
- Familiarity with the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication skills for working with students, families, and school staff
- Ability to manage and adapt to different caseload sizes and grade levels
- Commitment to fostering a positive, encouraging, and respectful classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, adapt, and deliver specialized lessons and interventions tailored to each student's needs
- Manage IEP processes, including assessment, goal setting, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers, therapists, and staff
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in required meetings
- Promote inclusion and advocate for student success across school environments
- Communicate regularly with families and participate in parent-teacher conferences
