Overview
The Payroll and Benefits Administrator is responsible for all payroll processing operations and benefits administration in the company. Establishes policies and processes that ensure accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings and company deductions. This individual needs to be extremely organized, detail oriented, and able to balance competing priorities.
This position is in-office 4 days a week Monday-Thursday with remote work allowed on Friday.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Keeps informed of new employee benefits and payroll related laws, regulations, and trends
- Prepare, Audit, and process payroll in an accurate and timely fashion
- Make changes in payroll based on new hires, terminations, and salary changes
- Run payroll and benefit reports as necessary
- Coordinate with HR Representatives to ensure employee data is entered accurately into digital HR system
- Maintains confidentiality of employee compensation and pay practices
- Fields and remediates employee questions and concerns regarding payroll and benefits
- Prepare Federal and State taxes after each pay period
- Prepare, review, and distribute annual W-2’s at year-end
- Prepare audit work papers for year-end payroll audit
- Prepare and maintain journal entries each pay period to post withholding and salary expenses to General Ledger
- Reconcile Federal and State taxes, W-2’s, payroll withholding accounts to General Ledger, payroll bank accounts
- Reconciliation and posting of payroll journal entries to the General Ledger
- Reconciliation and payment of benefit invoices
- Maintain accurate and secure records and employee payroll files to provide timely and accurate reporting of payroll history and current information
- Ensures accurate and timely governmental reporting and compliance
- Works with payroll and benefit vendors to implement, refine, or troubleshoot system issues
- All other tasks as required by Supervisor
Supervisory Responsibilities
- There are no Supervisor responsibilities in this role
Qualifications
- Experience with successfully converting payroll systems required
- 5 years of experience processing payroll preferred
- Sufficient knowledge in legal pay practices
- Extremely organized and detailed oriented
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Ability to maintain 100% CONFIDENTIALITY and professionalism with payroll and personnel information – zero tolerance on divulging confidential information

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
