Duties
- Greet guests warmly and present menus confidently, providing detailed descriptions of dishes and beverages to enhance their dining experience
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS (Point of Sale) systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable, ensuring all special requests are noted and fulfilled
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining a lively, engaging presence at the table
- Process cash and card transactions accurately, including sales transaction processing and handling tips with professionalism
- Upsell menu items like cocktails, wines, or desserts to maximize sales opportunities while ensuring guest satisfaction
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables promptly and assisting with food handling and preparation when needed
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and resolve any guest concerns swiftly to foster positive guest relations
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially in fine dining or high-volume settings
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable for efficient order processing and sales transactions
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and handle inquiries professionally
- Knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktail preparation, and beverage service to enhance guest experiences through upselling
- Ability to manage time effectively during busy hours while maintaining attention to detail in order accuracy and cleanliness
- Basic math skills for processing payments accurately and managing cash handling responsibilities
- Familiarity with food safety protocols, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures to ensure guest safety and compliance
