- 15% shift differential
- Third Shift (Nights)
- Schedule: Monday-Saturday, 11:00 PM-7:30 AM
About the Role
Thermo Fisher Scientific is hiring a full-time Equipment Maintenance Tech II for its Grand Island, NY Bio Production Group facility. This site manufactures liquid and dry powder media in cleanroom environments as a Class II medical device manufacturer.
In this role, you will support the maintenance and operation of production and facility equipment through troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, calibration activities, and equipment support for manufacturing operations.
What You'll Do
- Perform day-to-day troubleshooting and maintenance of production and facilities equipment
- Complete preventive maintenance activities to support equipment performance and compliance requirements
- Perform calibrations of critical equipment following work instructions and standard operating procedures
- Support production through setup and troubleshooting of automated manufacturing equipment
- Assist with installation of new process equipment
- Support engineering projects and process improvement initiatives
- Participate in validation of new equipment and processes
- Maintain equipment reliability and support efficient operations in a cleanroom manufacturing environment
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to aseptically gown and work in a cleanroom environment
- Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) safety standards
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Trade & Technical school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, preferably within a cGMP facility
- Preventive maintenance experience utilizing a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
- Practical knowledge of cGMPs and working in an SOP-driven environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of electro-mechanical theory and maintenance best practices for production equipment
- Basic knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree
- Experience with automated manufacturing equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot electro-mechanical equipment to the component level
