We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Controller to oversee and execute the firm’s core accounting and financial operations. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial processes while providing clear reporting and analysis that supports sound business decisions.

Responsibilities

Oversee the firm’s financial procedures, accounting records, ledgers, and internal controls.

Prepare, analyze, and interpret financial and accounting information to evaluate profitability, budget performance, cash flow, and operational effectiveness.

Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, payroll, journal entries, cash receipts, cash disbursements, and general ledger activity.

Generate monthly financial reports, including reconciliations, cash flow reports, balance sheet audits, and budget-to-actual analyses.

Coordinate preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance reporting.

Manage cash and line of credit balances and maintain banking relationships.

Support partner tax planning and compliance with applicable federal, state, local, corporate, payroll, and other taxes.

Organize documentation and financial statements for internal and external audits.

Evaluate and recommend insurance coverage and maintain relationships with insurance agents.

Supervise finance personnel, including Accounting Specialist, Payroll Specialist, and Billing Clerks.

Work closely with the Finance Partner, firm leadership, finance team, and Human Resources on financial processes and reporting needs.

Perform other related duties as requested by the Finance Partner.
Requirements

Degree in accounting or a related field required.

Five or more years of related accounting, finance, or bookkeeping experience preferred; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Thorough understanding of accounting principles, budgeting, financial reporting, reconciliations, payroll, and internal controls.

Experience managing or supervising finance personnel preferred.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Ability to learn new software and operate standard office equipment.
