Position Summary:
Client is seeking a skilled Awning Fabric Seamstress to join their team in Van Nuys, CA. The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial sewing and textile fabrication, preferably with heavy-duty materials such as canvas or vinyl. This role involves sewing and assembling fabric components for custom awnings, ensuring high quality and durability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate industrial sewing machines to fabricate awning covers from canvas, vinyl, and other materials.
- Read and interpret design specifications, templates, or work orders.
- Measure, cut, and sew fabric panels to specified dimensions.
- Perform quality checks to ensure finished products meet company standards.
- Collaborate with other team members in the fabrication and installation departments.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a seamstress or industrial sewing machine operator, ideally in awning, upholstery, or similar industries.
- Ability to work with heavy-duty fabrics and materials.
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
