The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Radiology is seeking a Clinical Chief for the Diagnostic Division of Radiology. This leadership position provides clinical and operational oversight for Interventional Radiology services, including supervision of technical staff, support staff, students, and daily operational activities within designated areas. The Clinical Chief is responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care by fostering a culture of excellence, providing staff with the education, training, and resources needed to achieve performance objectives, and supporting the continued growth and advancement of Interventional Radiology services.
Benchmarks, develops, recommends, reviews, and monitors staffing models in conjunction with departmental HR Representative and /or Senior HR Leaders.
Hires, develops and manages the performance of the clinic assistant manager and clinical staff.
Identifies trends and determine QA priorities.
Recommends QA and patient/customer satisfaction strategies.
Develops and monitors plans to enhance patient satisfaction.
Allocates resources to meet quality and productivity expectations.
Researches, develops and implements best practices to improve care delivery across units.
Works with other departments on implementation.
Collaborates with medical directors from multiple disciplines regarding care and/ or service quality/ delivery.
Researches, develops and implements best practices to improve care delivery across units.
Assists in developing strategic plan, implementation plans with unit leaders and monitor progress.
Researches, develops and implements best practices to improve care delivery across units.
Coordinates communication and support collaboration among staff, medical staff, and healthcare leadership.
Engages and collaborates with physicians to identify opportunities for improvement, program development and capital budgeting.
Advocates for needs of unit with healthcare leaders; may collaborate with medical director of unit regarding program development, process improvements, and equipment budgets.

3-5 years of progressive clinical leadership.
3-5 years recent experience in a Level 1 trauma center in general/special radiology discipline.
Fiscal management experience: preparing and planning budget.
Proficiency in computer software applications.
Demonstrated skills in leadership/management.
Demonstrated knowledge of effective strategies for working with a variety of faculty, staff, and students.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Certification or eligibility for certification in diagnostic procedures by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologies, or certification in Sonography by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
Permit to Practice in the State of Iowa for all radiographers operating ionizing radiation emitting equipment
Supervisory experience.
Certification in Interventional Radiology.
Demonstrated positive Services Excellence Skills.
Knowledge of University policies, procedures and regulations
