Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fabricator - Welder to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components with precision and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise in various welding techniques, blueprint reading, and mechanical fabrication will contribute to the successful production of high-quality metal structures and parts. Responsibilities
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately fabricate and assemble metal components.
- Perform welding operations using FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) techniques in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards and ASME codes & standards.
- Measure and mark materials precisely using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math skills to ensure correct dimensions.
- Operate fabrication shop equipment such as press brake machines, plasma cutters, pipe threading tools, and power tools safely and effectively.
- Conduct sheet metal fabrication including cutting, bending, and assembling ductwork or other sheet metal structures.
- Use rigging, forklift operation, and machining skills for material handling and assembly processes.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols while working on construction sites or within fabrication shops.
- Assist with assembly of fabricated parts into final products or structures following detailed schematics and technical specifications.
- Ensure quality control by inspecting welds using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments; perform non-destructive testing as needed.
Experience
- Proven experience working on construction sites or within fabrication shops involving metal fabrication and welding projects.
- Hands-on experience with various welding techniques including FCAW, MIG, TIG, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, mechanical blueprint interpretation, schematics, shop math, and interpreting technical drawings.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to welding, rigging, machining, pipe threading, plasma cutting, press brake operation, and general manufacturing processes.
- Ability to operate power tools such as grinders, drills, saws, and soldering equipment efficiently.
- Experience working with sheet metal materials for fabrication of ductwork or structural components is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge of manufacturing standards including AWS standards and ASME codes & standards is preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction or manufacturing environments with the ability to adapt quickly to project requirements while maintaining high safety standards.
