Long Term Substitute Speech Language PathologistSeptember 17, 2026, to March 22, 2027(Woodsdale Elementary School)Abington Public Schools is seeking a Long Term Substitute Speech and Language Pathologist. The successful candidate must have experience with and be knowledgeable of speech and language services, assessments, and other supports. Additionally, the SLP provides consultation to special education programs and staff. This candidate will complete speech and language evaluations and provide treatment for school-related communication needs.
Strong clinical skills and a highly collaborative work ethic are essential to this role. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Conduct general screenings and diagnostic evaluations of at-risk students Provide services on an individual or small-group basis Knowledge and experience with AAC devices Work with and train educational professionals on strategies for mitigating speech and language disorders Work with the families of children with speaking problems to ensure treatment occurs both at home and in school Work in general and special education classrooms to improve listening, speaking, reading, writing, and learning strategies Maintain documentation on students under their care Communicate effectively with students, families, colleagues, and administrators Other duties as assigned
