We are looking for a dependable, organized, and friendly Site Front Desk / Administrative Assistant to serve as the first point of contact at one of our Club locations.
Position Summary
The Site Front Desk / Administrative Assistant provides a welcoming and professional presence while supporting the daily administrative operations of the Club. This position interacts regularly with members, families, visitors, staff, and community partners. The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple responsibilities, communicate effectively, maintain confidentiality, and handle situations professionally.
Essential Responsibilities
Front Desk & Customer Service
- Welcome Club members, parents/guardians, visitors, and guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Serve as the first point of contact for individuals entering the Club.
- Answer, screen, and direct incoming telephone calls and messages.
- Provide general information regarding Club programs, schedules, activities, and procedures.
- Direct visitors and families to the appropriate staff member or department.
- Respond to questions and concerns in a courteous and professional manner.
Administrative Support
- Perform general clerical and administrative duties to support daily Club operations.
- Maintain accurate records, forms, logs, and other documentation.
- Assist with member registration, attendance, enrollment paperwork, and other Club-related documentation as assigned.
- Assist staff with copying, filing, scanning, data entry, and other administrative tasks.
- Maintain an organized and professional reception area and office environment.
- Monitor office supplies and notify the appropriate staff when supplies need to be ordered.
Club & Member Support
- Help create a welcoming, safe, and positive environment for Club members.
- Interact appropriately and respectfully with children and youth.
- Assist Club staff with activities and special events when needed.
- Communicate concerns regarding member behavior, safety, or other issues to the appropriate supervisor.
- Maintain appropriate confidentiality regarding members, families, employees, and Club business.
- Follow all Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Peoria policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous office, receptionist, customer service, childcare, or administrative experience preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills, including email, Microsoft Office, data entry, and internet use.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Professional, dependable, patient, and friendly demeanor.
- Ability to interact appropriately with children, families, staff, and the public.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment.
- Must be able to pass required background checks and meet all Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Peoria employment requirements.
Work Schedule
During the After-School Program:
10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
During Summer Camp and when Peoria Public Schools District 150 is not in session:
8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
