ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and competency satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job.
Technical/Field Responsibilities
Perform irrigation startups, troubleshooting, repairs, winterizations and backflow testing
Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides safely and in compliance with regulations
Execute plant health care and landscape maintenance services including inspections and recommendations
Maintain any and all irrigation and application equipment
Maintain accurate records of services performed and materials applied
Assist with broader maintenance tasks including seasonal work and snow operations
Client-Facing & Relationship Responsibilities
Communicate professionally with clients and potential clients on-site; answer questions and provide expert recommendations
Educate clients on plant health, irrigation efficiency, and service value
Identify enhancement opportunities (plant health, irrigation upgrades, landscape improvements)
Support proposal development and upselling efforts alongside sales team
Help ensure properties meet company quality standards through regular site awareness
Account Manager Development Responsibilities
Shadow and support the Maintenance Sales & Operations Manager in managing client portfolio
Assist with site audits, documentation, and identifying revenue opportunities
Learn proposal creation, estimating, and client follow-up processes
Develop skills in CRM/LMN systems for tracking client communication and opportunities
Gradually take ownership of smaller accounts based on readiness
Team & Operational Responsibilities
Train and mentor team members in technical skills (irrigation, applications, plant care)
Maintain equipment, vehicles, and tools
Accurately track time and job data in LMN
Uphold safety, quality, and company standards
Collaborate with operations and sales teams to ensure client satisfaction
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
Strong client service and communication skills (critical across all roles)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Ability to perform physical outdoor work in varying conditions
Proficient computer knowledge
Ability to manage multiple tasks
Strong attention to detail
PREFERRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
Pesticide applicator license (or ability to obtain)
Degree or coursework in horticulture, turfgrass, or related field
Experience with LMN, CRM, or estimating tools
Prior leadership or crew supervision experience
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Experience in one or more areas:
Must be 18 years or older
High school diploma/GED
A valid driver's license and a clean driving record is required

JOB SUMMARY
This hybrid role is designed for individuals with technical experience in mowing, irrigation, fertilizer application, and/or horticulture who are interested in developing in an Account Manager role. The position combines hands-on fieldwork with client interaction and relationship-building responsibilities.
The primary focus is to deliver high-quality lawn and landscape maintenance services while building strong client relationships, identifying opportunities, and progressively taking on account management responsibilities based on
performance, experience, and business needs.
