American Traveler is hiring a Behavioral Health Assessment Specialist RN for a Behavioral Health Intake unit, requiring an active OH or compact RN license and at least 1 year of nursing experience.

Work in the Behavioral Health Intake unit of a psychiatric facility
-
24-bed unit with a patient ratio of 1:4
-
Patient population ranges from ages 18-99 with diagnoses including detox, depression, and psychosis

Shift schedule is 3:00 PM to 3:30 AM, Friday through Sunday

36 weekly guaranteed hours with weekend shifts required

No call requirements

Active OH or compact RN license required

Current BLS certification required

Handle With Care (HWC) certification required

Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required

AHA certifications required for consideration

Conduct behavioral health assessments and intake evaluations for patients

Must recognize mental health as an illness and demonstrate compassion toward patients

Ability to remain unbothered by challenging patient comments while maintaining professionalism

Proactive approach expected during downtime

Dress code is navy blue scrubs or business casual, with hoodies not permitted

Candidates must live 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for travel assignment

Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible

Candidates must not be employed elsewhere full time
