Responsibilities
- Assess patients' physical conditions through detailed evaluations, including mobility, strength, and functional ability testing.
- Design and execute tailored physiotherapy treatment plans that incorporate techniques such as trigger point therapy and orthopedics-focused interventions.
- Provide hands-on therapy sessions to improve movement, reduce pain, and facilitate recovery for diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, and those in acute care or home & community settings.
- Educate patients and their families on exercises, injury prevention strategies, and discharge planning to ensure continuity of care beyond clinical settings.
- Monitor patient progress regularly; adjust treatment plans accordingly to optimize outcomes.
- Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care plans for inpatient and outpatient cases.
Requirements
- Valid licensure or certification as a licensed Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Proven experience working in hospital environments, outpatient clinics, or home health care with familiarity in inpatient and outpatient care processes.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and physiotherapy techniques including trigger point therapy.
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective care plans for diverse populations such as geriatrics and pediatrics.
- Experience with EMR systems for documentation and patient management.
- Excellent communication skills to educate patients about their treatment options and recovery processes.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team in fast-paced healthcare settings.
