What You'll Do
As a key member of our commissioning team, you will work closely with senior engineers to ensure that mechanical, electrical, plumbing and life safety systems perform flawlessly and meet the highest standards of quality. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Verifying & Testing: Conduct field investigations, execute functional performance tests (FPT), and lead integrated systems testing (IST) to validate system installation and operation.
- Design & Documentation: Assist in the design and drafting of construction documents using tools like AutoCAD and Revit. Review project documentation, including design plans, product data, specifications, shop drawings, and vendor submittals, to ensure they align with the design intent. Maintain accurate records of the commissioning activity and ensure the generation of detailed commissioning documentation.
- Problem Solving & Reporting: Identify and document system deficiencies, document corrective actions, manage technical reports, and support construction administration tasks like RFI responses and punch lists.
- Collaboration & Communication: Serve as a critical liaison between our senior engineers, clients, and contractors which include leading internal team meetings and external client meetings that provide regular status reports. Collaborate closely with project managers and other project stakeholders to understand specific commissioning requirements and expectations and ensure project milestones are met with unwavering quality.

What You'll Bring
We are looking for a self-directed and detail-oriented commissioning engineer who can manage demanding timelines and complex projects. The ideal candidate will have:
Education & Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in the engineering, installation, or commissioning of mechanical and electrical systems.
Technical Expertise:
- Deep technical competency in HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, Building Automation Systems (BAS), or life safety systems.
- Proficiency with engineering software like AutoCAD or Revit.
Essential Skills:
- Ability to quickly gain comprehensive knowledge of firm’s practice, clientele, goals, policies, and procedures.
- The ability to interpret construction documents, equipment submittals, and MEP design plans.
- Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and regulations, e.g., ASHRAE.
- Exceptional skills in communication, organization, time-management and paying attention to detail.
- A collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member.
- Capable of conducting construction site visits and physical field work.
Bonus Points:
- Familiarity with commissioning tools like Bluebeam or CxAlloy.
- Professional certifications such as CxA, BCxP, or LEED is highly advantageous.
