<Responsibilities>
- Manage patient intake procedures, including scheduling appointments and collecting necessary documentation
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits using systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, and other EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems
- Review and update medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and accuracy in documentation
- Assist with insurance verification, billing processes, and coding using CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10 codes, and medical terminology
- Provide exceptional patient service via phone and in person, demonstrating professional phone etiquette and compassionate communication
- Maintain organized filing of medical records and administrative documents using office management software like Microsoft Office, Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Dentrix
- Support front desk operations including appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out, and multi-line phone system management
<Qualifications>
- Proven experience in medical office administration or clinic support roles with familiarity in medical billing and coding practices
- Strong knowledge of EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms
- Familiarity with health information management standards including HIPAA compliance and medical documentation review
- Ability to navigate insurance verification processes for Medicare and private insurers effectively
- Excellent communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations
- Proficiency in computer skills including typing (10 key), Microsoft Office Suite, and electronic health record (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix
- Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly desirable; familiarity with dental terminology and dental office management is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in filing, data entry, and appointment scheduling
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while providing outstanding customer service
