The Grounds Crew is seeking a skilled Fertilization & Weed Control Specialist who combines technical expertise with excellent communication, follow-through, and customer service skills. Position Overview
As a Fertilization & Weed Control Specialist, you will be the face of our company in the field. You'll manage your own route, provide expert lawn care recommendations, communicate directly with customers, and ensure every property receives outstanding service.
This role requires someone who is self-motivated, detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working independently while maintaining strong communication with customers and teammates.
What You'll Do
Lawn Care Season Responsibilities
- Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and turf treatments according to seasonal requirements and industry best practices
- Diagnose lawn issues including weeds, disease, insects, nutrient deficiencies, and environmental stress
- Perform aeration and overseeding services
- Maintain accurate application records and comply with all state and federal regulations
- Educate customers on lawn health, cultural practices, and treatment recommendations
- Identify and communicate service opportunities that benefit customers
- Follow up on customer concerns and ensure issues are resolved professionally and promptly
- Manage daily routes efficiently while maintaining high-quality service standards
Winter Responsibilities
- Participate in snow removal operations and property inspections during snow events
- Operate snow plows, snow blowers, and related equipment
- Assist with maintaining safe conditions on customer properties
- Respond to winter weather events as needed
Year-Round Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles and equipment safely
- Perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Maintain clean, organized vehicles and equipment
- Communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and management
- Complete required paperwork, reports, and documentation accurately and on time
- Assist with additional property service projects as needed
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Previous fertilization, weed control, or lawn care experience (2 year minimum)
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to obtain and maintain required pesticide applicator licenses
- Knowledge of fertilizer, herbicide, and pesticide application practices
- Ability to read and understand product labels, application instructions, and SDS documentation
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials as required

Compensation
Competitive hourly pay based on experience, licensing, and qualifications. Additional opportunities may be available through certifications, leadership responsibilities, and performance-based growth.
