Caffè Umbria is looking for a Coffee Quality Specialist to support quality, training, and customer experience across our Southwest US wholesale market. This is a field-based role for someone who is deeply rooted in specialty coffee, genuinely loves developing others, and is ready to take their expertise beyond the café.
This role is also a natural stepping stone. We're building our team intentionally, and the right person could grow into a broader sales and account management position over time.

What You'll Do
- Serve as an ambassador for the Caffè Umbria brand and coffee quality across the Southwest US
- Conduct quality visits with wholesale partners according to company guidelines
- Lead training for café and wholesale accounts; barista education, brewing standards, and equipment use
- Assist with basic equipment troubleshooting and maintenance
- Support promotional events, tastings, and brand activations as needed
- Maintain professional, responsive communication with internal teams and customers
- Build genuine relationships within the local and regional specialty coffee community
- Stay current on specialty coffee trends, brewing methods, and industry standards
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in specialty coffee; as a café manager, trainer, roastery team member, lead barista, or similar role
- Strong working knowledge of coffee, brewing methods, and grinding equipment
- Experience teaching or coaching others, with the ability to communicate clearly and adapt your style to different audiences
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues
- Comfortable working independently and managing your own schedule across a large territory
- Ability to travel regularly throughout the Southwest US
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a repetitive basis
- Reliable personal vehicle
- Ability to successfully pass a background check
Familiarity with Italian café culture, alternative brew methods, and specialty coffee standards is a strong plus.
