We are a Los Angeles–based fine jewelry manufacturer seeking an in-house Jewelry CAD Designer to join our production team. This is a hands-on role focused on creating production-ready CAD models for fine jewelry, primarily engagement rings and custom pieces.
This position is on-site and best suited for a designer who understands real-world manufacturing constraints and works efficiently with setters, casters, and production staff.
Responsibilities
- Create precise, production-ready jewelry CAD models
- Design engagement rings, wedding bands, and custom fine jewelry
- Modify and refine existing CAD files based on production feedback
- Work closely with manufacturing, casting, and setting teams
- Ensure designs meet structural, aesthetic, and stone-setting requirements
Requirements
- Strong experience using Matrix (required)
- Experience with MatrixGold (preferred)
- Solid understanding of jewelry construction and stone setting
- Ability to create clean, accurate, and manufacturable CAD files
- Experience designing for real production (not render-only work)
- Strong attention to detail and time management
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a jewelry manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with diamond and gemstone specifications
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, collaborative setting
