Echelon Payments is a high-growth payment processing company headquartered in Melville, NY, processing billions annually for merchants across the United States.
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented VP, Finance to join our growing Finance team. Reporting to the CFO, you will take hands-on ownership of core finance operations — financial reporting, FP&A, cash management, and cross-functional collaboration — while helping build the systems and processes that support our continued growth.
What You'll Do:

Prepareaccurateandtimelyfinancial reports, including monthly close packages and variance analysis

Support financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including budgeting, modeling, and performance management

Assistwith cash management, liquidity tracking, and short- and long-range forecasting
-
Support banking compliance, commercial banking relationships, and lending documentation
-
Manage third-party billing workflows and on-statement billing processes

Oversee residual payment processing and reconciliation
-
Coordinate with external auditors to support preparation and delivery of audited financial statements

Partner with tax advisors to support proactive tax planning and compliance

Support evaluation and annual renewal of company insurance programs

Assist with ADP PEO relationship management, including plan renewals and cost analysis

Collaborate with the Head of HR on compensation planning, benefits strategy, and workforce cost management

Review bi-weekly payroll in partnership with the senior accounting team, ensuring accuracy and compliance

Contribute to the development and mentorship of the broader finance team
Qualifications:

7+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience

Experience in payments, fintech, or merchant services strongly preferred; familiarity with interchange, residuals, and payment processing economics is a plus

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related fieldrequired;Master'sdegree preferred

CPA, CFA, or CMA preferred

Prior Director of Finance, Controller, or Senior Finance Manager experiencerequired

Track recordof cross-functional collaboration and contributing to high-performing finance teams

Solid knowledge of corporate finance: budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and long-range planning

Strongproficiencyinfinancial managementsoftware (QuickBooks or equivalent)

Advanced Excel; familiarity with Power BI or similar analytics tools a plus

Experience with cloud software such as Salesforce, Ramp, andClickUp

Exposure to SOC 1 internal controls and financial audit frameworks
