Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager/Estimator to join our asphalt, concrete, and fencing construction team. This role is vital in supporting project planning, cost estimation, and execution, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate will possess general construction experience and ideally experience in specific asphalt and concrete construction processes. A top candidate will have excellent organizational skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. A candidate who excels in customer relationships, learning from the existing Project Managers in estimation and execution of work, and who has a hunger to be a self-starter with an entreprenerial spirit, will be able to move up quickly within our company.
Duties
- Assist in preparing accurate construction estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and scope of work using construction estimating software.
- Support project managers in developing detailed project schedules to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to gather quotes and manage contracts effectively.
- Learn the process behind accurately and appropriately estimating work of different sizes and complexities
- Willing to talk to customers to develop confidence in the type of work we are bidding and selling
- Contribute to project coordination efforts by monitoring work schedules, tracking costs, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and contractual obligations.
- Assist in reviewing change orders, RFIs (Requests for Information), and submittals to maintain project scope integrity.
- Support the preparation of bid proposals by compiling cost data, labor estimates, and resource requirements.
Requirements

- Experience in construction estimating and project management within a construction environment.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, site operations, contracts, and project scheduling techniques.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively across multiple projects.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate with diverse teams including subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
- Construction site experience is highly preferred to provide practical insight into field operations.
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and quality control procedures.
- Effective communication skills for clear documentation and stakeholder engagement.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
