Cook (part-time) – Hancock County Jail
Hancock County Government is seeking candidates to fill a position in our jail for the position of Cook (part-time).
The Hancock County Jail has an immediate opening for a part-time cook. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, must have a high school diploma or equivalent and subject to a criminal history review. Seeking an individual that has a flexible schedule with the ability to work weekends and assist covering vacation time for our full-time staff. Knowledge of commercial kitchen operations and supervisory skills are preferred. Part-time cooks are given first consideration for any full-time opening
The starting rate of pay for Cook (part-time) is $21.77 and additional compensation may be given consideration with relevant experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Prepares breakfast, lunch and dinner for inmates and employees.
2. Follows menus as closely as possible.
3. Supervises kitchen trustees.
4. Oversees the cleaning of kitchen.
5. Performs other duties as requested by the head cook.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be 21 years of age or older
2. High School Diploma or equivalent
3. Successful completion of a background check
