Duties
- Perform detailed diagnostics on mobile devices including Android and iOS smartphones, tablets, laptops running macOS and Windows operating systems, and other consumer electronics.
- Conduct hardware repairs such as screen replacements, battery swaps, port repairs, and electrical soldering using hand tools and specialized equipment.
- Troubleshoot software issues related to operating systems, apps, and device firmware; provide solutions for hardware malfunctions through analysis skills.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to identify faults accurately and execute precise repairs on circuit boards and internal components.
- Support customer service by explaining repair processes clearly, providing troubleshooting support for mobile devices, and ensuring a positive experience.
- Maintain detailed repair logs, update inventory records for replacement parts and tools, and ensure all repairs meet quality standards.
- Assist in retail sales by educating customers on device care, accessories, and maintenance options when appropriate.
Experience
- Proven experience in mobile phone repair or consumer electronics repair with a strong understanding of hardware diagnostics.
- Familiarity with operating systems such as Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows; capable of troubleshooting software issues effectively.
- Skilled in using hand tools for delicate electronic work including soldering equipment for electrical repairs.
- Knowledge of computer hardware maintenance including desktop computer repair, printer and copier repair is a plus.
- Strong analysis skills to identify root causes of device failures quickly and accurately.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical clients.
- Prior field service or retail experience in electronics repair or sales is advantageous but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning new technologies is essential.
