Duties
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, assembling ingredients, and basic cooking tasks under supervision
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area through regular cleaning, sanitizing surfaces, and proper waste disposal
- Support food running and serving duties to ensure timely delivery of orders to guests
- Buss tables by clearing dishes promptly and resetting tables for new guests
- Handle manual lifting of supplies, ingredients, and equipment following safe lifting practices to prevent injury
- Manage food handling procedures in accordance with food safety standards to ensure quality and hygiene
- Operate POS systems such as Micros POS for order processing and payment transactions accurately
- Support heavy lifting tasks with proper technique to maintain safety standards in the kitchen environment
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, demonstrating familiarity with kitchen operations
- Strong understanding of food safety protocols and proper food handling techniques
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and assist guests courteously
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and movement of supplies
- Experience with POS systems like Micros POS or similar platforms for order management
- Knowledge of food preparation processes and culinary practices preferred
- Exceptional customer service skills to create a welcoming atmosphere for guests during in-person interactions
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and cleanliness
