POSITION SUMMARY
Borden Dairy is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Staff Accountant. In this dynamic role, you will, as part of a team, perform a variety of accounting duties and prepare the business for the month-end closing activities.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform month-end closing activities, including preparation of the various journal entries and variance analysis
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Responsible for the Fixed Assets and intercompany process for 13 plants and corporate office
- Record Fixed Assets acquisitions, disposals, and transfers in the accounting system
- Reconcile the CIP projects costs and capitalize Fixed Assets once the projects have been completed
- Post monthly depreciation JE for all locations
- Reconcile the Fixed Assets sub-ledger to the GL
- Provide support to the tax department in preparation of the property tax returns
- Assist with the external audit by preparing schedules related to the Fixed Assets, depreciation, disposals, Fixed Assets roll forward.
- Track CAPEX versus capital budgets and make sure proper approvals are in place.
- Assist with project improvements, new accounting pronouncements, and ad-hoc general accounting matters.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 1–3 years of professional experience in accounting roles
- Proficient in month-end close processes and financial reporting
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and spreadsheet management
- Familiarity with JD Edwards ERP software is preferred

- Time Management: Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Team-Oriented Mindset: Enthusiastic team player who values collaboration and enjoys contributing to a positive, high-performing work culture
