The Adult Workforce Education Navigator plays a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service to learners of all ages applying to credit-bearing and non-credit bearing educational programs at Shawnee State University. This position will be responsible for providing services to residents at the STAR Community Justice Center (CJC) in Franklin Furnace, Ohio. The main goal of the Adult Workforce Education Navigator is to facilitate services related to Admissions, Advising, Financial Aid, the Registrar, and Student Accounts specifically for this underserved population of learners. The Navigator will also provide general information about Shawnee State University.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Enrollment and Student Support
Independent engagement with students and interna/external stakeholders to support enrollment and completion of educational courses and programs offered by Shawnee State at the STAR CJC
Handles and processes all in-person meetings, phone calls, and emails to Shawnee State University for the student-residents, triaging questions, processing documents, and resolving concerns
Develops and implements application and enrollment processes. Reviews application materials to recommend course or program eligibility to student-residents
Provide ongoing career counseling and mentorship to student-residents while at STAR CJC and after re-entry into the community. This includes supporting the student as they navigate any certification and licensure exams and contributing to the educational aspects of their re-entry
Evaluate participant needs in order to promote successful outcomes
2. Program Evaluation and Reporting
Provides technical expertise with ongoing evaluation of the educational programs and courses offered by SSU at STAR CJC
Engages in continuous improvement of processes
Makes recommendations for courses and programs based on resident interest and demand
Develop and maintain a reporting system to collect, analyze, and regularly report time-and-effort, activities and performance metrics
Develop and implement surveys regarding course and career interests, outcomes, and other metrics needed to review, evaluate, and improve student-resident experience
Identify opportunities for ITAG, CTAG, or articulation agreements and report to academic areas.
3. Administrative Collaboration
Know and adhere to STAR CJC policies and procedures and SSU policies and procedures
Communicate with STAR CJC employees to ensure SSU processes align with STAR CJC requirements and policies.
Participate in internal committees, working groups, and events to ensure consistency of processes.
