Aide Job Description
Position Overview:
The Aide will support the PreK 4 students and teacher. The aide will assist the classroom teacher in providing a nurturing, safe, and organized learning environment for young children. The aide will assist in daily activities, manage classroom materials, and help reinforce instructional objectives. This position runs from 8:00-2:45 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.
**Additional hours may be added on in our aftercare program on Tuesdays and Thursdays**
Key Responsibilities:
- Classroom Support: Assist the teacher in preparing and organizing lesson materials, setting up learning centers, and maintaining a clean and safe classroom environment.
- Student Assistance: Provide individual and group support to students during activities.
- Behavior Management: Help monitor student behavior, reinforce positive behavior, and assist with conflict resolution when necessary.
- Communication: Collaborate with the teacher to communicate student progress, behavior, and needs.
- Classroom Management: Assist with the organization of classroom materials, supplies, and resources to promote an effective learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in early childhood education preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience working with young children in a school or daycare setting is preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication skills, patience, empathy, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Work Environment:
- The role is based in a classroom setting within an elementary school.
- The aide will work closely with children and other school staff.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.50 per hour
