Position Overview
The Motorcoach Diesel Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered motorcoaches and commercial vehicles. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high safety and documentation standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines (Cummins & Detroits), transmissions (Allison), suspensions, brakes, hydraulics, HVAC, and electrical systems
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections, oil changes, tire services, alignment checks, and air brake inspections
- Troubleshoot complex issues using schematics, diagnostic tools, and technical manuals
- Repair or replace interior components; audio/video experience a plus
- Document all repairs, and parts used in shop software
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Comply with DOT, OSHA, EPA, and all company safety policies
- Assist with major repairs, rebuilds, and component disassembly

Qualifications
- 2–4 years of diesel, motorcoach, or heavy commercial vehicle repair experience
- Strong understanding of diesel engines, air brake systems, HVAC systems, electrical systems, and diagnostics
- Experience with Cummins, Detroit, and Allison transmissions preferred
- Ability to read and troubleshoot wiring schematics
- CDL Class B with passenger endorsement preferred (not required)
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening
- Ability to lift 75+ lbs and work indoors/outdoors for extended periods
- Positive attitude, strong attendance, and ability to work independently
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, or occasional overtime

Pay: $22.00 - $35.00 per hour
