Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases using POS (Point of Sale) systems to process transactions accurately and swiftly
- Manage cash handling procedures, including cash register operations, change distribution, and balancing cash drawers at shift end
- Provide product demonstrations and upsell opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales
- Maintain organized merchandising displays and stock shelves to ensure products are appealing and accessible
- Assist with stocking, inventory management, and ensuring the sales floor is clean, safe, and inviting
- Deliver excellent customer service by addressing questions, resolving issues promptly, and practicing professional phone etiquette when needed
- Support team members through supervising experience when applicable, helping new staff learn processes and uphold store standards
Skills
- Proficiency with POS systems and basic retail math for accurate transactions and cash handling
- Strong communication skills to engage customers effectively in multiple languages (bilingual abilities are a plus)
- Experience in grocery or retail stores with knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and inventory management
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service with friendly attitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to perform retail sales duties confidently while promoting products through demos and upselling techniques
- Familiarity with cashiering procedures, including cash handling, balancing registers, and transaction processing
- Knowledge of phone etiquette for professional communication with customers over the phone or in person
