Are you a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) looking for a home care position with competitive pay, flexible scheduling, and a supportive nursing team? BrightStar Care of Iowa is hiring CNAs for in-home care in Des Moines, West Des Moines, Ankeny, Urbandale, Johnston, Waukee, and surrounding areas.
Work one-on-one with clients in their homes - no facility setting, no rushed care. Just meaningful, personalized service that makes a real difference every day.
What You'll Do
As a BrightStar Care CNA, you will deliver skilled personal care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Duties include:

Personal hygiene and ADL assistance (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)

Vital signs monitoring (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration)

Safe patient transfers and mobility assistance
-
Catheter care and ostomy care (as trained)
-
Wound care assistance and skin integrity monitoring
-
Medication reminders and medication management support
-
Meal preparation and nutritional support
-
Dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and memory care
-
Post-hospital and post-surgical recovery care
-
Documenting and reporting changes in patient condition to supervising RN
-
Companionship and emotional support

Requirements
-
Current CNA certification in good standing on the Iowa Direct Care Worker Registry
-
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation with current auto insurance
-
Must pass a background check and drug screen
-
1+ year of CNA experience preferred (home care, nursing home, hospital, or assisted living)
-
Strong communication skills and compassionate bedside manner
-
Ability to follow written and verbal care plan instructions
