Position Summary:
The Early Childhood Department at the JCC MetroWest in West Orange, NJ is searching for part-time afternoon Preschool Floating Teachers. We have an impressive facility, supportive community, and a teamwork-oriented staff. This position is an opportunity to grow as an early childhood professional through on-going professional development and with supportive leadership. Job Responsibilities Include participating in development of programs and lessons consistent with the emergent curriculum model of teaching; attending to children's individual and emotional safety; developing relationships with families and colleagues; working collaboratively with a team; working with Lead Teacher on observation and documentation; changing diapers and participating in toilet transitioning based on classroom assignment; and attending to classroom management and environment. Floating teachers may be asked to cover a short-term or long-term classroom position when appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications:
The ideal candidates will understand developmental milestones, be nurturing, patient, reliable and joyful. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and co-workers.
- High School Graduate with previous experience in an Early Childhood or School setting;
- Child Development Associate Certification Preferred
- Salaries are commensurate with credentials; range is $18 - $20 per hour.
