Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide expert advice on gardening, landscaping, floral design, and outdoor maintenance products
- Assist customers with product selection, ensuring they find solutions tailored to their outdoor projects and gardening needs
- Maintain attractive merchandise displays and ensure shelves are stocked with high-quality products
- Process transactions efficiently using POS (Point of Sale) systems, handle cash and card payments accurately, and manage cash handling responsibilities
- Support inventory management through stocking, organizing merchandise, and conducting regular stock checks
- Offer guidance on plant identification, horticulture best practices, and landscape maintenance techniques
- Communicate effectively via phone or in person to address customer inquiries and provide exceptional service
- Promote e-commerce options by assisting customers with online orders or digital catalog browsing when applicable
- Assist in merchandising efforts to enhance store layout and product visibility for improved sales performance
- Contribute to a positive team environment by sharing knowledge of floral design, gardening tips, and outdoor work experience
Qualifications
- Previous retail sales experience preferred; enthusiasm for outdoor work, gardening, or horticulture is highly valued
- Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers
- Knowledge of plant identification, landscape maintenance, lawn care, floral design, and merchandising techniques
- Experience with POS systems, cash handling, retail math, and cashiering procedures
- Excellent organizational skills to manage stock levels and maintain an inviting store appearance
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks such as lifting and standing for extended periods
- Customer service-oriented mindset with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse clientele
- Familiarity with e-commerce platforms or digital tools related to retail sales is advantageous
