Patient Care Coordinator/Professional Front Desk
Oakland Oral Surgery and Dental Implant Center is seeking a friendly, organized, and motivated Patient Care Coordinator to join our growing team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring a positive patient experience by coordinating the patient care process from scheduling through treatment and follow-up.
The ideal candidate is professional, energetic, detail-oriented, and committed to providing exceptional customer service. Prior oral surgery or dental office experience is required. Experience with Carestream and/or WinOMS software is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand and support dental office procedures and daily workflow
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments
- Obtain and verify patient demographic information
- Verify insurance benefits and process insurance billing
- Collect copayments, coinsurance, and other patient payments
- Review patient charts for accuracy and complete necessary reports
- Organize and prepare daily patient charts
- Provide administrative support to surgeons and clinical staff
- Coordinate patient follow-up calls and communications
- Scan, file, update, and maintain patient records
- Merge and manage patient data within electronic medical records systems
- Communicate professionally with patients and referring doctors via phone and email
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional office environment
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Practice Manager
QualificationsRequired
- High school diploma or GED
- Prior oral surgery (OMS) and/or dental office experience
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
- Experience with Carestream software
- Experience with WinOMS or other dental practice management/EMR systems
- Insurance verification and dental billing experience
