Overview
SereniTea Spa and Tea Lounge is hiring to fill our tea lounge with dedicated and energetic tea masters, where your passion for beverages and exceptional customer service will create memorable experiences for every guest. In this role, you’ll craft a variety of specialty teas, manage retail sales transactions with precision, and ensure a clean, welcoming environment. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help us deliver top-tier beverage service in a fast-paced, friendly setting.

A valid food handling card is required for consideration.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a diverse selection of high-quality Chinese teas including tea mocktails, hot and cold selections, and specialty teas, ensuring consistency and presentation standards are met.
- Prepare light snacks (fruit, nut mixes, Chinese tea cakes). Please be aware that these nut blends include tree nuts, almonds, and pine nuts. Interaction with these potential allergens is inevitable. Keep your health in mind when applying!
- Carry drinks to and from tables, ensuring empty dishes are quickly removed after customers are finished.
- Operate a POS system at the tea bar, accurately taking and charging orders.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests warmly, taking orders efficiently, and offering product recommendations to enhance their experience.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitization of the tea prep area, equipment, and seating areas by following food safety and sanitation protocols.
- Manage food handling responsibilities including proper storage, food preparation, and adherence to health regulations.
- Assist with inventory management by restocking supplies, monitoring product freshness, and communicating stock needs promptly.
- Support team members during busy hours by managing multiple tasks such as serving drinks, processing transactions, and ensuring smooth operations.
Experience
- Previous barista or café experience is preferred, especially with tea. A strong background in beverage preparation and customer service within the food industry.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to handle retail sales transactions accurately while maintaining excellent math skills for cash handling and register balancing.
- Experience in food safety practices, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during peak hours.
- Proven ability to work well in a team environment with excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of coffee or tea industry standards enhances your ability to deliver expert beverage service.
