American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist (Acute Care) with at least 1 year of experience for a 13-week travel assignment at an acute care hospital in Apple Valley, CA.

Acute care hospital setting with 212 staffed beds
-
Schedule is Tuesday–Saturday, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM (5x8-hour shifts)

Patient population includes geriatric, orthopedic, post-stroke, cardiac (CHF, CABG, MI), COPD, ICU, ER, and medical-surgical cases
-
Clinical focus areas include total hip and knee replacements, hip fractures, gait training, and post-stroke rehabilitation
-
Procedures and skills include AROM/AAROM/PROM, gait training, assistive device use, pain assessment, skin integrity, strength testing, vital signs, and home exercise program development
-
Equipment used includes gait belts, crutches, standard walkers, hospital beds, and supplemental O2

Charting is done in Epic (experience required)

Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination

Minimum 1 year of recent acute care physical therapy experience required

Active CA PT license required (license required if applicable)

Current BLS certification required

Epic EMR experience required

Experience with orthopedic, geriatric, cardiac, and neurological patient populations required

Proficiency in patient and family education, discharge planning, plan of care development, and reassessments

Ability to perform lifting, transfers, and gait training
-
Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting required for consideration

Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are accepted; a different pay rate may apply — contact your recruiter for details

Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

Block scheduling may be accommodated at manager's discretion

RTO requests must be submitted at the time of consideration; minimal RTO is preferred
