We offer the best lifestyle for being a chef! The Natural Grocer is open Monday-Friday from 9-7 and Saturdays 9-3. No late nights, no Sundays and it is a great group of people!
We are a natural grocery store known for our healthy, freshly prepared foods and a new, creative menu every day. Our offerings include a variety of vegan, wheat-free, and dairy-free options, all made with organic produce and high-quality proteins. We’re looking for a dedicated and skilled sous chef to join our team for the afternoon shift. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, a passion for high-quality, nutritious food, and the ability to contribute to our daily menu offerings with care and precision. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menus.
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner and meets quality standards for taste and presentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, following all health and safety regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff or dietary aides as required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a chef in a restaurant, catering service, or similar food service environment.
- Must be able to work Mondays and Tuesdays plus other days of the week.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary skills.
- Familiarity with food sensitivities and the ability to adapt recipes accordingly.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also taking initiative when necessary.
- A passion for cooking with an eagerness to learn new techniques and cuisines.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
