Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Experienced PRN Caregiver to join our team in providing exceptional support and care to individuals across various settings. In this vital role, you will deliver personalized assistance to promote independence, safety, and well-being for residents with diverse needs, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring memory or dementia care. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will ensure each person receives the highest quality of care in a respectful and nurturing environment.
Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor patient vital signs, observe changes in condition, and report findings accurately to healthcare professionals
- Administer medications following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when required
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning, sanitation, and organization of resident spaces
- Support residents with cognitive impairments by implementing memory care strategies for Alzheimer’s, dementia, or autism-related conditions
- Document care activities meticulously, including medication administration, patient observations, and updates to care plans
- Use specialized equipment such as resident lifts or Hoyer lifts safely during transfers or repositioning
- Engage residents in social activities and provide emotional support to foster a positive community atmosphere
- Follow all safety protocols related to heavy lifting, patient monitoring, and emergency procedures such as CPR or first aid
Experience
- Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments with a focus on senior or long-term care
- Hands-on experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders
- Knowledge of dementia and Alzheimer’s care best practices for memory care units
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and maintaining confidentiality of patient information
- Demonstrated ability to perform patient observation accurately and respond swiftly to changes in condition
- Experience using care management tools to develop or follow personalized care plans
- Prior work involving medication administration, vital signs measurement, and patient monitoring preferred
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts effectively
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams, residents, and families
- Compassionate attitude combined with energetic enthusiasm for providing high-quality caregiving services
