General Description of Responsibilities: Primary duty is focused on Montcalm Substance Use Disorder Prevention.
As a Health Educator I, the Employee will plan and implement community health education programs. This includes the preparation and dissemination of public health information to the general public and other community partners through various methods. The Employee will organize and lead community health activities. Work will involve coordinating specific projects in the district, within the agency policies, procedures, and program guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Baccalaureate degree in health education, education communications, or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Public health background preferred.
- Possession of a valid Michigan vehicle operator’s license, own transportation and ability to travel as required.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Considerable knowledge of the principles and objectives of public health education.
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations in various methods.
- Skills in planning, assessing and evaluating programs.
- Knowledge of communicating through social media forums.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Knowledge of the core functions and essential services of public health.
- Collaborates with community partners to promote the health of the population.
