This position supports operations that run 365 days per year. The schedule includes two consecutive days off; however, they will not typically fall on traditional weekend days. This role is expected to work Saturdays and Sundays. The typical start time is 4:30 p.m. with the potential for overtime.
Sanitation Technician
The Sanitation Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and food-safe manufacturing environment by performing cleaning and sanitation of production equipment, processing areas, and facility grounds in compliance with company policies, food safety standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and regulatory requirements. This role helps ensure product quality, prevents contamination, supports efficient production operations, and promotes a safe workplace through the proper use of sanitation chemicals, equipment, and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Clean and sanitize facilities so that they are always neat, clean, and presentable. These areas include but are not limited to floors, walls and emptying all trash - however it is being stored. This will include hallways, bathrooms, offices, and eating areas
· Clean and sanitize all production and baking equipment according to Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP’s) using prescribed methods and chemicals. They must also document these activities according to the SSOP
· Clean, wash, and sanitize all utensils, pans, and miscellaneous items that may require the cleaning process in the automatic washer and sanitizing equipment in the most effective manner possible
· The Sanitation Technician is responsible for staying current on all SSOP’s and work practices recognizing that they are responsible for their own performance
· Maintain the facility in a neat and orderly fashion, and practice safe behaviors so that proper signage is being utilized whenever required and to notify other employees of unsafe conditions that are created through the use of water
· Clean equipment in a safe and conscientious manner so that the cleaning process does not damage the operation and the equipment being attended to
· Practice Food Safety Culture every day at all times
· All other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

o MSDS/Right to Know
o Food safety programs (3rd party audits, procedures)
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
· Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs
Education/Experience
· Experience in a manufacturing industry
· Sanitation experience
Work Environment
The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates in a manufacturing environment. Inside an air-conditioned building with normal temperatures between 70 and 80 degrees. Minor smoke/smell from ovens and fryers. Contact with food allergens like wheat, egg, soy, milk, peanuts, and tree-nuts. Occasionally required to enter walk-in-cooler or freezer for a short period of time with normal temperature between 0 to 40 degrees.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. Stooping and bending may be below the knees, lifting and reaching may be above shoulders. On foot on a continuous basis. Grasping, pushing, pulling as needed.
